About PaintMinion

Heyla!  I am known as “PaintMinion” in most places, a name I created for my miniatures painting long before the Minion movies were developed. In the past, I’ve published articles and how-to’s for minipainters, including in the MMSI (Military Miniatures Society of Illinois) monthly magazine The Scabbard, online companies, and a few magazines now defunct. Sigh.

Now I’ll be painting for FineScale Modeler Magazine! You can find my Enchantress in their December 2018 issue. They are asking for gaming level pieces, not my high quality paint work, but it’s fun doing these and offering tips for other painters out there!

My professional work has been with Reaper Miniatures, Dark Sword Miniatures, Thunderbolt Mountain, and others, mostly as box art, and website pieces for advertising.  I also take private commissions, and teach classes on demand.

I developed and ran the MHE (Miniatures Hobby Events) area of Gen Con for over ten years, which included the Painting Competition, the free Paint & Take program that serves over 1000 attendees, Speed Paint Arena, Aces Charity Speed Paint, and the Classroom, where instructors offered over 100 classes for painters of all levels.  I have judged competitions, exhibitions, and won awards all over the US and online.

I am the Iron Painter for Season 6. 🙂

I am best known for my dragons.

Wife, mom, good friend.

You can find me painting at Grognard Games in Schaumburg, IL on many Tuesdays, as well as see some of my painted work is for sale in their cases.

If you are interested in Commissions, Classes, or wish to inquire about a piece that may be For Sale, please contact me at info@paintminion.com.
